Hi, I am Jacco.
Hi, I am Jacco.
Right now I am making music inspired on the elements, with the upcoming album ‘Fire’.
Fire plays a huge role in our lives. It comes in many forms, leaving an impact wherever it goes, often with a transforming power. I was eager to explore more about the diversity of fire. In an open investigation, I look into the parts of this element that speak to me today. Granting me the freedom to experiment with sound, trying out what fire sounds like, I went on this journey. Producer Wessel van den Broek accompanied me in this experiment and was a sparring partner. It got me excited. That is the place where this album comes from.
‘Fire’ is made as an experience you can go through. When listening to the album, try to make a fire yourself(even if it is just a candle) and let the fire reveal its different sides. How does it feel when it sounds warm and gentle? How if it sounds energising and groovy? Or when it sounds like all is tearing apart? Possibly, you hate some of it, and you’ll love other parts. All of it reflects this same element.
Jacco Wynia is a Dutch neo-classical composer, pianist and musician. His music ranges from solo piano and soundscapes towards experimental world music with spiritual influences.
Jacco considers Music to be his first language. Beginning as a pianist and organist accompanying churches and choirs, Jacco continued his path around age 16 by playing in bands and ensembles. Since then, he has always had Music as a job and played in many bands, had a booking agency, set up a music school, and founded a record label where he is now spending much of his time recording and developing new music as A&R.
After studying Popular Music (Rock Academy NL, University of Westminster UK), he needed time to reset his compass towards innocent inspiration. He returns to making the music that gets him passionate. In this process, Jacco keeps discovering more links between different beliefs and spiritual movements, deepening the experiences in this world.
These spiritual backgrounds find their way into the music. Musical experiments embody our bonds with the elements in the ‘Elements’ series that started in 2023. New instruments are added to his arsenal: Synthesizers, Drumsynth, and acoustic instruments like melodica and flutes.
Because Music means so much in his own life, Jacco is always grateful to be able to share music with his listeners.
